Robert Young
Robert Young founded his self-titled construction company, specializing in quarry and aggregate products in 1958. Since that time his family owned and operated business has thrived employing local people and giving back to Peterborough County. Based in Ennismore, Robert was an active member of the community, particularity when it came to physical activity. He was a driving force behind the 1972 construction of the Ennismore Community Center which now bears his name. As his business grew Robert continued to support physical activity in Peterborough county by participating, coaching and sponsoring hundreds of teams over his lifetime. He was honoured with inducting into the Peterborough Sports Hal of Fame in 2007. Robert was also honoured with the Don Bell Memorial Trophy in 2001 and the County of Peterborough recognition award in 2003. Through he passed away in 2008, Robert Young’s business and achievements live on through his family who continue to operate Roberts Young Construction and give back to the community. |
