William "Bill" Lockington

Bill Lockington: founding partner of LLF Lawyers LLP always aspired to be a lawyer. A graduate of Western University Law School, he articled and practiced at the largest law firm in Canada at the time, Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP in Toronto. Offered the opportunity to join a senior lawyer in Peterborough, Bill and his family returned to his hometown. He partnered with Alec Elliot and Ed Wood to conduct a successful legal practice for 14 years. In 1986 he joined a client in business and limited his practice. Five years later, he returned to the law, and with Peter Lawless and Bruce Fitzpatrick, formed the practice which is now LLF Lawyers. Bill considers LLF Lawyers a great place to work. The original practice of three lawyers and three staff has grown to 16 lawyers and 45 staff members, being Peterborough’s largest full-service law firm, with a branch office in Bobcaygeon. A strong believer in giving back to the community, Bill has, and continues to contribute through ongoing volunteer work. As a founding chair of the Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough and the Economic Development Corporation, co-founder of the SPARK Photo Festival and Kawartha Family Business Group, and a key initiator for the Innovation Cluster and the Peterborough Angel Investing Network, he knows and values his community. Bill is proud of the practice he has built, the goals he has achieved, and the many valued relationships he shares. His advice to aspiring youth is to have and maintain a vision, pay attention, care for people, and give as much as you get
